The Origin of The Tomorrowistic Sound
D1T • Artist Biography
Florida-based recording artist and creator of The Tomorrowistic Sound
Origins
D1T is an artist based in Florida who grew up in Orlando on the other side of Division Street, where life in government housing was marked by hand-me-down schoolbooks and the realities of struggle. In that environment, music became more than entertainment. It was a lifeline and a cultural mirror. The voices of Marvin Gaye singing What’s Going On and James Brown declaring Say It Loud, I’m Black and I’m Proud were not just songs to him but lessons in resilience, identity, and cultural pride. These early experiences gave D1T a deep appreciation for the way music reflects the human condition, and they remain the foundation of his artistic vision today.
Sound & Style
His sound does not fit neatly into any single genre. Instead, D1T has created what he calls The Tomorrowistic Sound, a style he describes as Dancing in Space (DIS) Music. Unlike most popular songs led by a drum machine or steady metronome, DIS Music makes the silence between the notes the beat itself. It is music infused with raw energy, recorded live, and free from the artificial polish of computer programming or sampling. Science says energy creates energy, and D1T believes capturing that natural energy is his highest goal.
His work blends cultural commentary, personal joy, and empowerment into a philosophy he calls FEE, which stands for Fun, Energy, and Education. Through this, he creates music that not only entertains but inspires reflection, aspiration, and growth.
Education & Theory
D1T’s journey into music is unconventional and tied to his commitment to education. At seventeen, dissatisfied with the limits of the education system, he joined the military. In his free time, he researched and developed his own system of learning based on physics and science. Out of this research grew his Uniformity of Uniqueness Theorem, which later became the foundation for his music.
He views music as similar to the elements of the Periodic Table, where vibration frequencies define everything from bass to soprano in the same way they define solid, liquid, and gas in nature. From this concept he developed what he calls Vibe Freq Dancing, a way of understanding music and dance as interconnected expressions of frequency and movement. With no formal training in composition or performance, he began writing, arranging, and producing songs that reflect this scientific approach. His path has always been about innovation rather than imitation, making him an artist who truly occupies his own lane.
Creative Process
As a producer of one, D1T records in one or two takes from start to finish, pressing the record button and allowing the energy to flow naturally. He sees technology as a tool rather than a necessity, preferring the authenticity of live sound over digital perfection.
His story includes symbolic moments, such as picking up a guitar that had once been treated as wall art and was headed for the trash. With no training on the instrument, he decided to play it and incorporated it into a song he wrote about Atlanta. This spirit of transformation and resourcefulness defines his approach to music.
Catalog & Upcoming Album
Over decades of research, education, and creativity, D1T has built an intellectual property library that spans music, comedy, dance, and film scripts. His music catalog contains hundreds of songs that showcase the depth of his vision.
His forthcoming album, I Beent That (Newbian), captures both his roots and his drive to innovate. The phrase “I beent that” nods to the language of the streets where he grew up, signaling resilience, experience, and authenticity. It is also a double entendre that suggests bending steel, a symbol of strength and originality. Through this album, he affirms his belief that true artistry rises from every stage of life, from the outhouse to the White House, without ever being out of place.
Beyond Music
D1T defines himself as a Knowledgineerpreneur, an entrepreneur of knowledge who merges applied science with creative expression. His mission is to demonstrate proof of concept for his educational theories through music and to leave behind a body of work that inspires others to think differently about the relationship between art and learning. His career is not about chasing trends or imitating what is popular but about carving out new territory that belongs to him.
His connection to culture also shows up in the items he has collected. As part of his twentieth anniversary celebrations, he is sharing keepsakes from events he attended in Atlanta, including items from the 2005 Muhammad Ali Butterfly Ball and rare Jermaine Dupri Young, Fly & Flashy T-shirts from the same year. These items reflect not only his presence in important cultural spaces but also his appreciation for history and legacy.
Influences & Audience
D1T’s music appeals to fans of artists such as Bruno Mars, Shaboozey, Prince, Keith Sweat, John Legend, and Ella Mai, while also reaching those who love the funk traditions he grew up with. For listeners seeking originality, authenticity, and a new way of experiencing music, his work provides something that is hard to find elsewhere.
