Once the theme is clear, he seeks out a beat that matches the intended mood and then begins writing.

A major influence in his life and music journey has been Salahuddin Abdul Assawir, also known as Flash. Flash owned the first pre-production studio iShine Poetic Lee ever worked in during the 90s. Despite the financial costs, Flash allowed him to record for free, recognizing a hunger in iShine Poetic Lee that reminded him of his own early days. The two have remained close friends and brothers in faith to this day.

Another critical mentor in his journey is Dr. Christopher Starr, CEO of CSP Music Group. For over two decades, Dr. Starr has been a guiding force, teaching iShine Poetic Lee the ins and outs of the music industry while providing state-of-the-art equipment and studio access to help bring his ideas to life.
