Former TV Producer Turned Rapper Pony Boi Gets Pappered Up at CSP Music Group with Christopher Starr

Last week I got to know a rap artist that has much more going on than meets the eye. I found Pony Boi’s career transition so fascinating, that I needed to talk to him and share his story with our readers.

Before becoming a professional recording artist, Pony Boi (real name Sergio Meyers) was the creator and executive producer of the highly anticipated reality TV series, “Sorority Life” on MTV. The successful series ran for 3 seasons and from there came the successful spin off series “Fraternity Life” for 2 seasons as well as “Meet The Greeks.” Myers has secured development deals with heavy hitters HBO, MGM, VH1 and FX.

Pony Boi is making the transition from a very successful multi-talented network reality show creator, producer, award winning filmmaker, actor and documentarian to a hip hop recording Artist.

In 2005, he released his first single titled “Don't Shake It” featuring Da Brat after signing a label deal with Bungalo Universal Music Distribution. Pony Boi later released his debut album "Who Woulda Thought" in 2006 with Long Live Crime Records, which featured Da Brat, Guerilla Black, Buccweet, Shar Jackson with big name producers Charlemagne (Talib Kweli, Shyne), Arden (Alicia Keys, John Meyers), Dutch (Ice Cube, Sisqo), and Marc 7even from Jurassic 5. Pony Boi is already being heralded as the next “Pit Bull.” His new single, after a break, is “Papered Up” featuring Gorilla Zoe, Vocal Production, Recorded, Mixed and Mastered by Christopher Starr at CSP Music Group.
